Mysuru: The by-election to Mysuru City Corporation Ward No. 32 will be held on July 2. The seat fell vacant after the termination of JDS Corporator C Mahadesh who was convicted in Hunsur double murder case during February, 2016.

The election notification will be released on June 14 and the code of conduct comes into effect immediately. June 21 is the last date for filing nominations. Counting of votes will be held on July 5.

Soon after the by-election date was announced political activities gained momentum in city. Initially, when Mahadesh was convicted there were rumours that he was going to make his wife contest the by-election. In 2013 corporation election Mahadesh had defeated Balasubramanya of BJP.
