CCB sleuths crack down on multiple cases; Rs 29,56,000 recovered

Mysuru: The City Police cracked down on multiple cases and have recovered valuables and cash worth Rs 29,56,000 with the arrest of five persons, said Commissioner of Police B Dayanada addressing a media conference at his office on Sunday.

The City Crime Branch sleuths have cracked down on stockpiles of pirated DVDs and CDs worth Rs 25 lakh and arrested a person in this regard. CCB Police, along with the Udayagiri Police who conducted a raid following accurate information, arrested Rizwan Pasha (40) of Azeez Sait Nagar in the city.

With the arrest, Police have recovered 1 lakh 45 thousand in cash, CD, DVD cover posters of recent movies like Bahubali Bhaijaan and others worth Rs 50,000, 12 CD, DVD’s writers, 5 systems and around 20 empty DVDs and MP3 players worth 5,000. Police said that Rizwan was involved in the same case at Devaraja, Lashkar and Udayagiri Police limits.

Woman arrested for illegal money lending

Kuvempunagar: N Pushpa (50), a resident of Ramakrishna Nagar who was allegedly running a money lending shop without license has been arrested.  With the arrest, the Police have recovered 10 blank cheques and two mobile phones. He said that she was taking a bribe of 5% to 10% from the loaners. He said that strict action will be taken against the money lenders who are running shops without a license.

Illegal liquor shop seized

Nazarbad: Nazarbad Police along with CCB have cracked down on an illegal liquor shop and arrested Raju (25), the owner of Raghavendra wine stores. Police have recovered tetra packs worth Rs 16,000.

Stolen valuables found

Vijaya Nagar: Vijay Nagar Police have solved a home theft case and arrested Ravi Kiran (21) a resident of Bheema Nagar, Bengaluru and recovered gold valuables worth Rs 3,50,000 from him.

Surveillance for catching chain snatchers doubled

Dayanada said teams have been formed to nab the culprits. They will look into the sequence of the incident, how they have proceeded and other details first. Victims help is also sought in this regard to nab the miscreants. A gang of three might have been involved in the case, as they have randomly chosen places. They have just taken chances in quick succession and it seems like not a planned game.
