Mysuru witnessed a high-energy start to the Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) recruitment drive as an endurance test for junior powerman positions kicked off at Chamundi Vihar Stadium, Nazarbad, on Monday.
The test is a crucial part of the selection process aimed at evaluating the physical fitness of candidates for the 309 vacancies available. The tasks simulate real job conditions, including electric pole climbing, running, and five additional physical exercises. To qualify, candidates must successfully complete at least three tasks.
MLA and CESC Chairman Ramesh Bandisiddegowda inaugurated the event, urging officials to ensure fairness and transparency throughout the process. “Selection must be strictly merit-based, and the process should be beyond any scope for complaints,” he said. He encouraged aspirants to uphold the reputation of the power utility through integrity and dedication.
Only those who clear the endurance round will advance to the next phases of recruitment, making this stage a decisive filter.
CESC’s top leadership, including Chief Engineer DJ Diwakar, Superintending Engineer Sunil, Chief Accounts Officer Renuka, HR GM BR Rupa, and Vigilance Head Savitha Hugar, were present during the assessment.
The endurance test sessions will continue till May 16, drawing numerous candidates aiming to power their way into a career with CESC.
