Accused fails to get Siddaramaiah’s support

Chamarajanagara: An accused in SC/ST Atrocity Act, and assault of police officers fails to get support from former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

It is said that Siddaraju a native of Honakanapura in Gundlupet taluk facing atrocity charges against him was issued warrant by court. The woman Sub Inspector and staff went to his village to arrest him on the night of Tuesday January 11. But accused and 15 others allegedly assaulted police personnel and PSI. The accused fled from the scene and was found beside Siddaramaiah during  Mekedatu Padayatra on Wednesday January 12.

It is said that accused sought help from Siddu to avoid arrest. Siddaramaiah called the SP and heard that the accused had assaulted police. Then former CM rebuked the accused and sent him. He is still at large, and police on Wednesday arrested other 10 accused, who assaulted police. Police have laid trap to arrest him.
