Chamarajanagara: MLA N. Mahesh said that a record amount of Rs. 52 Crore has been allocated for Kollegala Reserved Assembly Constituency this time.
He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for development works in various villages of the Taluk. He said that there are many schemes for the development of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes by the Government for which the funds are also high. He further added, “However, I was the first to raise the issue in the Assembly demanding that special funds be released for the development of layouts inhabited by Lingayats, Upparas, Kurubas and other general categories. So I got this grant. It can be used for the development of health, education, basic amenities,” he added
” In all Rs 20 Crore has been allocated for the development of basic amenities including roads and drains in localities inhabited by other communities in my Constituency, he said and and added that the development works have already been started by giving grants.
Also, Rs 2.60 Crore has been sanctioned in Katnawadi, Basavapura, Malligehalli, Krishnapura, Komaranapura, Chamalapura, Gowdahalli and Budithittu Villages in the Taluk. Drainage and road development works have been initiated. The long-standing demand of the area has now been fulfilled and the residents should get these things done as per the priority, he said. He instructed the officials of the concerned Departments to ensure that the work is being carried out by KRIDL and quality works should be done.
