Chamarajanagara: A debt-ridden farmer resorted to suicide by hanging himself at Rangupura Village in Gundlupete Taluk of the District on Friday January 7.
The deceased farmer, Mahadevegowda of Rangupura Village, allegedly died suicide by hanging himself from a tree in his farm.
The deceased farmer had taken a loan from the PACC Bank and was a high defaulter. He had also taken loans from self-help groups in the name of his wife. It is learnt that he resorted to suicide by hanging himself in the wake of the increase in the burden of debt.
Begur Police visited the spot and registered a case.
