Chamarajanagara: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Saturday March 18 inaugurated the 108-feet statue of Lord ‘Maykara Madappa’ by throwing flowers on it. Silver Chariot built by the authority was also inaugurated.

Speaking to the mediapersons at Male Mahadeshwara Hill, he announced that a special package will be announced for Chamarajanagara District in the next two days. “For the second time in a month, I have come to Male Mahadeshwara Hill, God’s blessings and grace are upon everyone,” he said.

Responding to the protest of the NHM contract employees, Bommai said that he has already informed the officials and that he will do whatever it takes to help them. Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway is a work that the whole Country should be proud of, the whole Country will be connected to Mysuru, Bommai hit back at the criticism of the Opposition saying that for such good works whom should we have to invite other than Prime Minister Modi? After the first rain, there will be a minor problem and soon all the problems will be solved, he informed.

A silver chariot was dedicated at Malemahadeshwara Hill Temple in Hanur Taluk, a famous pilgrimage site. This is a silver chariot built by the authority, using 560 kgs of silver. However the Malemahadeshwara statue dedication programme is going to be a show of BJP solidarity, but it has become a programme of CM and Somanna combination. It was thought that the veiled fight between B. S. Yediyurappa and Somanna would end at Madappa Hill. However, Yediyurappa was absent from the programme. CM Bommai said that BSY was absent from today’s programme as he had to participate in the Vijay Sankalpa Yatra in Chikkamagaluru.

The 108 feet tall statue of Male Mahadeshwara has been constructed in the project at a cost of Rs. 20 Crore. Currently, only the construction of the statue has been completed and it has been inaugurated. In the coming days, other works will be done, including a museum on the life of Mahadeshwaraswamy, an open air theatre at the place of the statue and development of herbal forests.
