Chamarajanagara: Temple burglars arrested

Chamarajanagara: Police has arrested five persons, on Monday July 18, on charges of burglary at Muguru Tripura Sundari Amma Temple at T. Narasipura recently.

It is said that accused made away jewellery worth over Rs. 2 lakh and Hundi cash a week back at temple by breaking open the doors. However, CCTVs recorded the crime. After thorough investigation police raided gypsy community tents in Bisilavadi in Chamarajanagara District and arrested five. It is said that the accused were pretending to be gypsys and staying in tents outside village. During night they burgled houses and temples. The accused also stole jewellery from two other temples in Mysuru District.

Police has recovered gold jewellery hidden in bushes in forest. Further investigation is on.
