Chamarajanagara: The chariot of Veerabhadreshwara Swamy Temple in Chennappanapura in Chamarajanagara overturned on Tuesday November 1.
It is said that the annual car festival of Veerabhadreshwara Swamy Temple was being held when the mishap took place. It is a tradition that the devotees pull the chariot a few distances after the pooja. When hundreds of devotees started pulling the chariot, the wheel of the chariot broke and the chariot toppled. However, none were injured in the mishap as thousands of devotees ran away.
The Veerabhadreshwara Swamy Temple has a history of more than 600 years. The annual car festival was not held for the last two years due to Covid. Thousands of devotees participated in the annual car festival this year.
