Chamraj Nagar: Thirty children sheltered in a ashram in the town have been reported to be affected by the Coronavirus, following which the ashram has been declared a containment zone.
There are 70 children in the city’s Deenabandhu Ashram, of which 30 children are infected. The infected students of the ashram are now transferred to their own school building nearby.
The Deenabandhu Ashram in Chamarajanagar is being run by national poet Dr. G. S. Shivadrappa’s son G. S. Jayadev. On being informed that 30 children in the ashram were infected, the health department personnel rushed to the spot immediately.
Currently, the ashram has been declared a containment zone and infected children are asymptomatic. 30 children who were tested positive children are at the school, while the remaining are being quarantined at the ashram itself. Thus, The Dina Bandhu school has now been converted into a Kovidi care center and care for children and nurses have been appointed.
The health of the children is being monitored by government and private doctors too.
