Bengaluru: The Central Food Safety Authority has certified the prasadam offered at Male Madeshwara temple, atop MM hills of Chamarajanagar district of the state.
It is the first Muzrai temple in the state to get such a certifiction.
According to the temple administrative officer Jayavibhava Swamy, six months ago, the temple had approached the authority seeking certification.
After detailed analysis of the prasadam preparation procedures, quality of ingredients used for the preparation, the certification has been issued.
The certification has been issued for both Laddu prasadam and Dasoha prasadam.
Meanwhile, sources also informed that the cost of the Laddu prasadam too will be hiked by the department considering a hike in the production cost.
The 100 gm Laddu, which cost Rs 20 so far will hence forth be priced at Rs 25. The price of the laddu prasadam was last revised in 2015.
