Chamarajanagara: A police constable died and an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) injured seriously on the night of Monday April 11 while they were hit by a speeding car.
The deceased constable has been identified as Prasad (33) and ASI Raju (45) was injured seriously when car hit their bike from behind at Hullepura Cross on NH – 209.
It is said that both the cops were on night beat when mishap occurred. Villagers shifted ASI Raju to KR Hospital in Mysuru. It is said that the speeding car driver fled scene after the mishap. Police has managed to identify the car number and arrested car driver Satish Kumar and registered a case. Santhemaralli Police is investigating.
