Chamarajanagara: The Suvarnavati reservoir is close to its brim, and thus the Cauvery Neeravari Nigam Limited (CNNL) authorities have instructed the people living on the river bank to shift to safer locations along with livestock.
According to a release from the office of Executive Engineer of CNNL, “the catchment area of the dam near Attagoolipura in Haradanahalli Hobli is witnessing rains. The water level at the dam is expected to reach its maximum level any moment. In this backdrop, those living in catchment areas and river banks and surrounding villages should shift to safer areas as a precaution and take care of their properties..”
The authorities will release 900 cusecs of water through two crest gates. Officials sources said the water quantity would be increased if incoming water is increased as the area is receiving heavy rainfall.
