Mysuru: The free health talk on “Awareness of Diabetes”, organised by Columbia Asia Hospital on November 28, saw an overwhelming response from the people of Mysuru.
The talk was conducted by Dr Rekha V Bhat, Consultant Endocrinology, who spoke about diabetes and the ways to control the disease by living a healthy lifestyle. Diabetes is the ninth most important leading cause of most of the deaths in a year. The session concentrated on how nutritious food and healthy lifestyle can prevent the disease. Participants came from within the city and across the district, to attended the free talk and update themselves about diabetes.
The participants, requested more of such camps regularly. They were also given a discounted diabetes health check package and a free Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI) test which is used to diagnose Peripheral Artery Disease.
