Mysuru: The District Congress spokesperson M. Lakshmana on Wednesday October 20 alleged that BJP State President Nalin Kumar Kateel of playing a role in the murder of RTI activist Vinayak Baliga in Mangaluru.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Wednesday October 20, Lakshman alleged that  Kateel a MP represents Dakshina Kannada Constituency in Lok Sabha. Baliga was murdered outside his house in Mangaluru in March 2016. Referring to Kateel’s comments on Congress top leader Rahul Gandhi calling him as ‘Druggist and Peddler’, Lakshman alleged that Kateel is linked with Baliga murder case.

Further, he said that BJP has resorted to personal attacks instead of subject-oriented concrete arguments. If  Rahul Gandhi is a drug peddler, they can investigate through several agencies like IT, ED and CBI as they are in power both in the State and Centre. As they are not doing any such probe, it succinctly tells it’s a baseless allegation against Rahul Gandhi, he added.

Lakshman also added that BJP won’t talk about price hike and issues related Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s son Jey Shah, whose assets have grown manifold in the recent years. Why ED and IT are not taking any action? he questioned.

Congress leaders also  staged a protest out side the office near railway station on JLB road and set fire to the portraits of Kateel.
