Curfew affects normal life in cultural city Mysuru

Mysuru: The weekend curfew imposed by State Government is a complete success in cultural City. The curfew came into effect on Friday night at 10.00 pm and will be in force till 5.00 am on Monday January 10.

Having been cautioned by the authorities, the movement of people was sparse all over the City. Bus services, medical services and grocery shops functioned normalyl. Only parcel service was allowed at all the hotels.

Some of the shops in the City tried to move beyond the restrictions only to be asked by the police to close. All those who were loitering around aimlessly were also warned by the police.

People who were caught unmasked were asked to cough up fine. Some of the important junctions and circles were barricaded and vehicles were checked for any violation.

In view of the curfew, there is no entry to Mysuru Palace, Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens (Mysuru Zoo) and Chamundi Hills. All the tourist spots in the State have been asked to close shop till further orders.

All the libraries, yoga training centres, gymnasiums and swimming pools have been closed. Wedding halls have been asked to allow only 100 people. If the function is in an open area, the limit is fixed at 200.

Highways and arterial roads have been guarded by the cops and there is strict checking of vehicles. Only those with valid reasons are allowed to proceed.
