Mysuru: NR Foundation, a philanthropic arm of NR Group, conducted Naadha Yoga for the students of Ranga Rao Memorial School for Disabled (RRMSD) in the school premises.

The 40 students, who had participated earlier in the International Yoga Day Mysuru district event, came together again to perform Yoga with enthusiasm and zeal. The students performed Yoga to the tune of bowls. Singing Bowl is a process where the rim of the inverted bell creates a harmonic sound along with vibration which helps in enhancing concentration. This practice is a century old method of creating sound which transforms mind, body and spirit and also helps in relaxation and personal well-being.

R Guru,Chairman, NR Group stated, “The activity is a yearly event where our students come together and perform Yoga. It not only helps them to be fit but also brings about favourable changes in their lifestyle. With such activities we aim to create a peaceful and healthy environment for students.”

Gayathir, 9th Standard student of RRMSD said “Yoga is a great source of relaxation. It brings a cohesive change in your mind and body and gives a very refreshing effect. I am thankful to my school and teachers for including Yoga in our curriculum.”

“I am delighted and overwhelmed by the response of the students. Co-curricular activities are crucial for holistic development. In fact, studying and participating in co-curricular activities gives children not only an opportunity to better their skills but boost their confidence,” said Akhilanka, Founder of Temple of Singing Bowls, Mysuru.

The blend of Yoga and Singing Bowl is a unique amalgamation which was combined together for the first time. Both Yoga and singing bowl calm the mind and body individually but when performed together the experience is highly soothing and relaxing. The motive of this event was to encourage healthy living among the students.
