Mysuru: A murder committed in a clandestine manner about one year ago was cracked by the City Crime Branch (CCB) police, in which the wife of the victim turned out to be the prime accused.

Krishna, managing partner of Chankya school in the city was killed by his own wife in connivance with 3 other men and to hush up the crime, they burnt the body after the fact. The wife had taken a lot of precautions to ensure that the case is closed without further investigation by declaring that her husband died of cardiac arrest. After killing her husband, she managed the school on her own.

However, three men in an inebriated state recalled the incident 15 days ago at a bar in Kuvempunagar in which they were involved and shouted “Krishna’s life, snuffed out using pillow a year ago never came to light!” This conversation was overheard by a relative of Krishna, present in the bar that time.

Later Krishna’s relatives lodged a written complaint with the Kuvempunagar police narrating the bar incident which contained ‘enough substance’ to trace and nail the guilty. Meanwhile, the wife ruled out the possibilities of murder despite being questioned repeatedly by her relatives. The incident was brought to the notice of city police commissioner by the jurisdiction police, who in turn handed it over to CCB.

During interrogation, Manjunath, one of the accused confessed to committing the crime taking help from other men and then burning the body to hush up the case in coordination with Krishna’s wife. Incidentally, Manjunath looked after water supplies in the school.

Based on the revelations, police are on the lookout for the other accused in the crime including Krishna’s wife.
