Mysuru: In a commendable crackdown on a case, a huge fake job racket has been busted by Narasimharaja station police in Mysuru in which more than 30 youth were assured jobs in Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC).
The job aspirants were asked to pay Rs 60,000 via phone conversations and were assured jobs in BMTC. They were also provided with fake appointment letters.
The mastermind of this gang is a woman named Pushpalatha from Bengaluru. It has been reported that she lured job aspirants saying that there are vacancies in BMTC. She also said that she personally knew a few officials at the BMTC and hence would provide jobs with direct appointment.
More than 30 youth were lured into this scam. She is also said to have arranged a KSRTC bus, taking them to a hotel in Bengaluru and providing them with appointment letters. All the victims have lost Rs 60,000 each.
The fraudsters also targeted a group of youngsters in Mysuru. Somanna from Mysuru who was given an appointment letter told his friend Mahendra that he landed a job in BMTC. Mahendra grew suspicious of the job provided and informed Mysuru Narasimharaja police station and KSRTC. Based on credible information the police cracked the racket and have launched a manhunt to nab the mastermind Pushpalatha.
Another accused in the racket, Narayanaswamy who was providing false appointment letters in the aforementioned hotel has been arrested.
Police are suspicious that since the victims were taken to Bengaluru by a KSTRC bus, few KSRTC officials may have been involved as well.
The truth however will be found out only after the Police complete the questioning of main accused Pushpalatha.
