Feud within BJP leads to complications

Mysuru: A BJP worker who is one of the followers of H V Rajeev was allegedly assaulted by another BJP leader and former Minister S A Ramdas on Tuesday night. An attempt to murder case has been registered at the KR Police Station.

Speaking to the Police, Guruprasad alias Guru, a resident of Srirama Road, Khille Mohalla at Agrahara said that Sagar, a supporter of Ramdas knocked at his door and was called outside to have a discussion at late hours last night. As soon as Guru came out from the house, Sagar, who had come with two others in two motorcycles, started assaulting Guru. Sagar hit Guru’s head with a stone; beat him black and blue before fleeing from the place. Guru’s landlord who stays in the floor above, heard the scream of Guru and rushed him to JSS Hospital from where he was shifted to KR Hospital later.

According to Guruprasad, Sagar was asking him to leave Rajeev’s group and join Ramdas. On Tuesday when BJP State President B S Yeddyurappa was in Mysuru, he had uploaded Yeddyurappa’s multiple photos with H V Rajeev in a Whatsapp group and this had enraged Sagar as Ramdas was left out. Guru even had given a letter to City Police Commissioner seeking protection.

K R Police booked an ‘attempt to murder’ case under IPC Section 307 is looking out for the alleged accused.
