Mysuru: With the issue of exclusion of BJP corporators as heads of standing committees heating up, the fissure in Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) ruling coalition further widened with Deputy Mayor from BJP Rathna Lakshman walking out of a meeting.
Unhappy over seating arrangements and exclusion of BJP corporations, the deputy mayor walked out of the meeting on Thursday, December 15. As per the agreement, two posts of standing committee heads were supposed to be shared between BJP and JDS in the ruling coalition. However after garnering the two posts, JDS went ahead to occupy the additional post of town planning and development also by nominating its candidate Kempanna thus denying opportunity to Nandish Pritham of BJP.
BJP has decided to boycott all future council meetings following this “breach of agreement”.
