Mysuru: A five-day “Free Hearing-Aid Repair Camp” was organised by the Electronics Department at All India Institute of Speech and Hearing, Mysuru on Monday, January 27.
In this camp, any individual with a hearing aid can walk in and get his hearing aid serviced, free of cost. The replacement of parts will also be done free of cost. The camp has repair counters set up by all the major suppliers of hearing aids in the country. On all five days, the camp will be open between 9:30 am and 4 pm.
Last year, during a similar camp organised by the institute, more than 600 beneficiaries from across the state as well as from neighbouring states such as Kerala and Tamil Nadu, appeared at the camp. This year, a similar turnout is expected as all sorts of repairs and spare parts will be carried out free of cost.
Earlier, the camp was inaugurated by AYUSH District Officer Dr. Seetha Lakshmi who called upon the people to make maximum use of the camp. AIISH (Mysuru) Director M Pushpavathi also spoke on the occasion.
