Mysuru: A protest was staged by the Daily Wagers’ Welfare Union against the Karnataka State Forest Department here on
Monday December 13.

The protest was held by the workers in front of the forest office here demanding the release of pending salary and lack of response by the department to their requests.

Speaking to mediapersons, the General Secretary of the Union, A. S. Nanjundaswamy said, “The daily wage workers in Bandipur, Hunsur, Mysuru and Mandya divisions of the Mysuru Forest Department have been paid only three months’ salary in the last six months. It has been very difficult for the employees to make a living without pay.

He added, “Though our association has made many requests, the authorities have not responded.”
