Mysuru: Jithendra Patil, a multitalented champion, has proved that no matter whatever the circumstances are, one can still be a champion in the preferred field of individual’s life.
26 year old Jithendra Patil who is the captain of Jharkhand Paralympic Sitting Volleyball team which is taking part in the national level Paralympic sitting volleyball tournament in Mysuru is not only a volleyball player but also an outstanding cricketer, swimmer and dancer. Determined Jithendra never let his disability become an obstacle in achieving his goals. After noticing his outstanding skills, Jharkhand government honored him by presenting him a state award on World International Disable day.
When he was strolling on the road at Chamundi Vihar stadium, when interacted with him, there came out his extraordinary talent, he is not only outstanding sitting volleyball player but also an outstanding cricketer, swimmer and also dancer. He is the only bread winner in his family of eight sisters and two brothers. Among eight sisters three of them got married and he has responsibility to take care of five more sisters. Due to his poor back ground, he managed to study till II BA after a lot of struggle but later discontinued due to financial constraints in the family. His father is into farming.
Jithendra said “For nearly a decade I am playing cricket, volleyball, swimming and dance. I also take care of my living by performing street dance and also during various cultural programs. When it comes to volleyball, I lead the team, in cricket I am the opening batsman for my state. I represented state in swimming as well. My only desire is to look after my family and get my five sisters married. If the government provides me the job, I can fulfill my dreams.
His teammate Devaraj Ram said “He is a multifaceted personality. He is truly an all-rounder and always a team player and wants to do good for others”.
Sonia Mishra, who is a swimmer, said “Really he looks outstanding. After seeing his dance through video I was taken aback”.
