Mysuru: The Cultural City is all set to host International Day of Yoga (IDY) in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi would take part. People are waiting to watch IDY event on June 21.
Earlier it was said that more than one lakh enthusiasts would take part but now Mysuru – Kodagu MP Pratap Simha on Monday said that only around 15,000 people will be accommodated at the palace grounds and only those who register in advance will be allowed to be part of the event.
This year’s International Yoga Day assumes significance as Prime
Minister Narendra Modi will be coming to Mysuru. Each of the Government offices has been given representation. There is also demand for special invitees though the number of attendees will be restricted
to 15,000. Seating arrangements have been made for 8,000 people, he
added.
Simha said, on the stage, only five people will be allowed. No local
representative will be accommodated on the stage. Only Chief Minister,
Prime Minister, Governor, District In-Charge Minister and Ayush Minister will be on the stage. This is not a political event to accommodate everyone. We are proud that our Prime Minister is coming for
the event, he said.
MP said that our party leaders are overseeing the preparations for the day. There is no room for confusion as all of us want to ensure that the event is a big success. At the same time, I request my party workers and people not to put up flex boards and create a nuisance, he added.
