Hunsur: In this school, children are forced to sit on floors as there are not enough benches and desks. It is not well equipped. No enough classrooms and teachers. To administrate there is no headmaster. This is the situation in this Government higher primary school which is located in Dharmapura in Hunsur taluk.
The school which is 15km away from Hunsur, 259 children study here from 1st standard to 7th. Students who passed out from this school have become politicians, businessmen and are serving in many other fields. It is also the home constituency of District panchayath president Dr Pushpa Amarnath.

There are four old classrooms and three RCC rooms. But during rainy season, the rooms are flooded with water, due to the leaking roof which is covered with tiles.

From last 6 years, there is no permanent headmaster. For two years, Shri Kanthamurthy served as the acting headmaster. According to locals, after Januaury 14 2011, Narayana who was appointed as headmaster, never came to school on time. In a week, three days he used to visit the school and other days he would be absent, it is said. Two years have passed like this. From last two years for 15 days he would visit the school, draw money meant for Akshara Dasoha from the bank and give some amount to the school and disappear.

In this mess where rules of the goverment are not followed, students are missing classes as well as government money has been misused it is said. Whatever be the situation, teachers and the headmaster are getting their salary on time with the blessing of department officials or the politicians.

Those who talk about upgrading government schools must visit the school and they will come to know the pathetic condition of the school and take action at the earliest, the locals said.
