Mysuru: Former Chief Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy questioned as to taking 40 percent commission a development?

Speaking to mediapersons here on Monday November 22, he said that State Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister K. S. Eshwarappa has said that JD (S) has done nothing in the name of development when in power, and now what is this complaint of contractors from the State to Prime Minister Narendra Modi that they BJP ministers were demanding 40 per cent commission on development works, true development?, he took a jibe. He also added that farmers’ problems could have been resolved if that commission problem would have been solved. There is no scarcity of money with the government, he remarked.

He said, 5 lakh hectares of crops have been destroyed in the State due to continuous rainfall. However, the BJP is busy holding Jana Swaraj convention, he observed sarcastically and asserted that this government is not at all committed to farmers.

Expressing that if people make good use of the tax money they pay, Kumaraswamy said that farmers can be saved from hardship and compensation for the families of victims of Covid can be fairly distributed.

Kumaraswamy added that BJP is in the illusion that it can get a vote without doing anything. There is a limit to everything. Be careful before turning down people, he warned.

Expressing confidence of winning 6 to 8 seats in the MLC elections, Kumaraswamy said that BJP leaders say that they don’t need any support from others, and then announce that JD (S) would support them. Anyway, it makes sense as they are acknowledging our meaningful existence, he added.

Responding to BJP’s statement that election Code of Conduct is in the way of providing relief works, he questioned, “Does the Code of Conduct come into place only while providing relief to the farmers?” Government is escaping from its responsibility in the name of Code of Conduct, he alleged.

Responding to BJP Minister Eshwarappa’s allegation that there are no people in JD (S) who will simply talk but we have enough people who will help people in distress. Further, he advised Eshwarappa to suggest the many conch-blowers in BJP to speak when it is necessary, and now get down to help people in distress as now is the time to help the needy people.

Slamming the BJP he said that BJP’s Government is a government of sloganeers. They are not in reality but have their heads in the sounds, he added

Responding to Siddaramaiah’s harsh words to party workers on giving the council ticket and terming it as unfortunate, HDK said using such words against party workers is not right. Siddaramaiah should learn to embrace the defeat gracefully, and not lash out at the activists. JD (S) Supremo and Former Prime Minister Devegowda and I have both lost elections but never spoke to party workers in a demeaning way, he explained.
