It is learnt that the suspended government officials Chikkarayappa and S C Jayachandra had used their contractor links to exchange currency notes in various places including Tamilnadu and Mysuru.

The bank officials who helped the contractors to exchange currency are now in the IT radar. Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), State Bank of Mysuru (SBM) and co-operative bank officials from Mysuru are likely to be interrogated by the IT officials in this regard.

It is gathered that few of PWD minister Mahadevappa’s associates including contractors had deposited around Rs. 20 Crore in Rs 500 denomination old currency notes in some nationalised and co-operative banks and IT officials are busy extracting details related to these transactions.
