Mysuru: Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara University (JSSU) and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE), USA, agreed to continue the MOU signed five years ago for the faculty and students exchange programme to diversify their experiential knowledge.
Randy Pembrook, Chancellor, Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, USA and Gireesh Gupchup, Dean, School of Pharmacy, SIUE expressed their satisfaction with the progress made under this MOU and discussed the ways and means of expanding the scope of the same. They also expressed their interest in collaborative research and innovation with JSSU in the future.
The Vice Chancellor of JSS University, B Suresh explained that the MoU was initiated for a period of five years with a strategic intent to offer strong assessment and evaluation of the joint programs, devising mentorship programs with joint guidance and knowledge management of both the Universities. He also said that it was designed to enhance the integration of international dimensions into the curricula of both institutions and to provide faculty with the opportunity to develop research initiatives that include international databases and collaborative efforts with colleagues.
VSV Vadlamudi Rao, President of Commonwealth Pharmacists Association confered the Commonwealth Fellowship award on B Suresh, President of the Pharmacy Council of India for his outstanding contribution towards the pharma industry. He is the only Indian figured in the six member fellowship award list this year.
Speaking after receiving the honor Suresh who ha been in the pharma industry since 1982 said, “It is not an honor only to me but also to my country. I feel happy with the recognition and want to thank the Indian Pharmaceutical Association for nominating me for the fellowship.” He added that he would commit himself to continuing his work in the industry.
