Kodagu: A voluntary bandh is being observed in several places across the Kodagu district and in Virajpet, in protest against police firing in Mangaluru.

It can be recalled that police opened fire on the agitators who were protesting against CAA and NRC near the Deputy Commissioner’s office.

A voluntary bundh has been observed in Napoklu, Siddapura, Nelyahudikerei, Virajpet and surrounding areas.

Sources have said that shops and business establishments belonging to minority community members have been shut. There is no clarity on who called for this voluntary bundh.

Meanwhile, police security has been tightened across the district.
