Fake ACB officer demands Rs 1 Crore from Virajpet MLA Bopaiah

Kodagu: Former Speaker and Virajpet MLA K. G. Bopaiah received threat calls from fake ACB officer  on the night of Wednesday January 5.

Speaking to mediapersons on Thursday January 6, Bopaiah said that the first call came at 6.15 pm, the person identified himself as Bengaluru ACB officer, and said that he received complaint against Bopaiah that you amassed lot of wealth illegally and that he would raid his house the next day. He also said that if he pays Rs. 1 Crore, the raid could be prevented.

Again the caller called from different number at night 9.30 pm, and asked what I have decided?, Bopaiah said and added, “I am not corrupt and asked him to conduct raid. When Bopaiah asked the bank account number he disconnected the call.

Followed by a complaint  Madikeri CEN police registered a case. Initial enquiry reveals that the caller has called from Andhra Pradesh. Bengaluru Cyber Crime Police too have speeded up the investigation.
