Kodagu: A high school teacher in Kodagu has been booked under POCSO Act for allegedly sexually harassing two girl students. The incident was reported at a government school in the Madikeri Taluk.

The accused has been identified as Manohar Naik. He is suspected to be absconding, even though special police teams have been formed to arrest him.

According to sources, the teacher is accused of sexually assaulting and molesting two teenage girls. The incident came to light when one of the victims complained about the incident with her mother.

The victim explained how Manohar Naik molested and harassed both her and another girl from the same school. He was suspended immediately after the management of the school was informed.

The District Women’s Police Station has received a complaint about this from one of the victim’s parents in the meantime. The police have lodged a FIR under the POCSO Act. Further investigation is on.

According to sources, Manohar Naik was the headmaster of the school and the president of the Kodagu Teachers’ Association. A special team has been formed to nab the accused.
