Kodagu: Four incidences of tremors have already been reported in the districts of Kodagu, Dakshina Kannada, Hassan and Bidar, and Mysuru in Karnataka in the last week. The fourth such incident in a week occurred in parts of Mysuru on Tuesday June 28 and was recorded at 1.8 on the Richter scale.
Temporary instrumentation would be installed near the border of Dakshina Kannada and Madikeri to ensure a better recording of seismic activity here. The Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) will be able to closely monitor the area as this sensor will cover a 100-km radius.
According to sources, there is already one station in Madikeri which covers the area around the Harangi dam site.
