Kodagu: Tourists’ entry to the elephant camp has been banned for 2 days as wild tusker attacked and injured an elephant at the Dubare Elephant Camp of the District.

Gopi, an elephant in captivity at the camp, which was injured by the elephant, is receiving medical treatment.

The tusker continues to roam in an area close to the Elephant camp. For safety and security reasons, tourists’ entry into Dubare has been prohibited, said Forest Department officials.

An operation to drive the tusker back into the forest is on.
