Rahul gains entry into Asian Book of Records in Karate

Kodagu: The tiny District has contributed thousands of warriors, and sports personalities to the nation. Another youth from this hilly District has added feather to the cap of District by gaining entry into Asian Book of Records through his achievement in Karate.

The youth, K. Rahul Kumar, a native of Vijayanagara in Virajpet Town, son of K. Kumar and Varalakshmi has made a record by marking 260 punches and kicks in a minute in Karate. Rahul is the first person in the District to make such a record.

Earlier Rahul had made entry in to India Book of Records. As Covid pandemic is troubling everyone, the achievement has been recorded online. The Karate Tournament was organised jointly by Dynamic Shotocon Karate Du Association, World Union of Martial Arts Association, World Karate Alliance and evolution of Karate in December 2021. The tournament has representation from 16 countries.

Rahul has been very fond of Karate, an art of self-defence since childhood. He started practising since age 12. Rahul achieved this after hardwork of over a decade.  He had earlier gained entry into Asia Book of Records and won many medals at the State and National level championships.

Rahul won the first place in Katha and Kumithe division in the year 2016 in Karate championship organised by Karate Tues Yuchiriyo Du India of Kerala.

Speaking to NewsKarnataka Rahul said that his Karate trainer H. R. Shivappa is behind his success. He said everyone has their own talent, and they should make good use of it through practicing. He said practice and hardwork will definitely yield fruit.
