Mysuru: The ongoing CCB investigation into the KPL betting scandal has revealed that a few players were honey trapped by the use of a few models. Till now, however, the police are tight-lipped about the allegations and the findings of the investigation.
In the meanwhile, home minister Basavaraj Bommai has made it clear that his son is not trying to influence the investigation.
Speaking to the reporters in Mysuru, Bommai denied the allegations made by a section of the media that his son is trying to influence the investigation. “I was a cricketer. My son was also a cricketer. That doesn’t mean that my son is trying to protect anyone. I have ordered for a strict investigation,” he said.
“I have ordered that a sstrict investigation be conducted. No one will be spared,” he added.
Meanwhile, if sources are to be believed, a few KPL players were honey-trapped to ensure that they will agree to fix the matches. The police, however, are yet to respond to the reports in this regard.
According to sources, models were used to lure these players and their conversations were recorded. They were apparently blackmailed with those conversations.
“We are investigating all the angles. There is no question of budging under any sort of pressure,” the police said.
