Mysuru: KSOU Registrar (Administration) P S Naik has been suspended by the Governor of Karnataka for alleged misappropriation of funds in the Karnataka State Open Univeristy (KSOU).It may be recalled that the University of Mysore Vice Chancellor Prof K S Rangappa and six others were booked under various sections of the IPC for alleged misappropriation of funds in KSOU.
Governor’s office had written to the KSOU to file a case against Rangappa, formerly the vice-chancellor of KSOU, another former KSOU VC Prof M Krishnan, former KSOU dean T D Devegowda, former KSOU registrar and current Mysore University biochemistry professor B S Vishwanath, KSOU Director (IT division) Dr Kamlesh, Deputy Registrar of KSOU Ramanathan and KSOU Registrar (Administration) P S Naik.
As per retired judge K Bhaktavatsalam Committee’s report submitted to the Governor, a case was registered against seven persons at Jayalaxmipuram station and later, let off on bail granted by the High Court. However, the governor issued a suspension order against P S Naik after his involvement in financial irregularities was proved on Wednesday.
