KSRTC adds more buses to ease Dasara rush in Mysuru

Mysuru: In order to ease the rush owing to the Dasara festivities, the KSRTC has introduced 50 additional buses to be operated from the Mysuru city bus stand to prominent places across the city, including to Yelwala. Apart from city buses, the KSRTC will also introduce 150 additional buses to other cities, including Bengaluru, Hassan, Chikkamagaluru and Chamarajanagar.

Speaking to Newskarnataka, KSRTC Mysuru Divisional Mechanical Engineer Veeresh said, “Apart from the regular 435 city buses, which are being operated every day, to ease the rush during Dasara, the Chief Minister flagged off 50 more buses to be operated in areas such as Infosys in Hebbal, Vijayanagar, Saraswathipuram, Kuvempunagar, Rajeevnagar, Brindavan Extension, JP Nagar, Siddartha Layout and Naidunagar. These buses will be operated daily between 10 AM and 11 PM, till Dasara is over.”

He also mentioned that, apart from city buses, an additional 150 buses to different moffusils including to Hassan, Bengaluru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar and Chikkamagaluru will be put into service. On Vijayadashami, nearly 3 lakh people make use of buses and keeping this in mind, the KSRTC authorities have planned to provide additional buses.

The ten-day Dasara festival was inaugurated atop the Chamundi hill on Wednesday and will conclude on October 19.
