Mysuru: Though the government changed the lives of thousands of people but more needs to be done. It’s not only about money but also about creating awareness, said former international cricketer Brett Lee who is into creating awareness on hearing loss screening for new borns.
Brett Lee, the Global Hearing Ambassador with the global implantable hearing aid firm Cochlear, interacting with students and staff of All India Institute of Speech and Hearing here on September 7, said, “On the lines of importance given to polio, the parents should also give importance to the screening of new borns. If defects are detected at an early stage, they can be resolved or corrected early. If the implant procedure is done between the age of 1 and 2 years, there are bright chances that most of the kids will be normal.”
