Madikeri: “Symbol of peace and non-violence, Mahatma Gandhi’s principles are still relevant to this day and the youths shall try and inculcate his qualities,” said District Congress president K K Manjunath Kumar.
Addressing the gathering at the District Congress office, celebrating the 150th birth anniversary of Bapu, he said, “The Congress party has been built and is growing on the principles of non-violence and peace. It has built a strong society by paying respect to democracy. But nowadays, those who have attained power have weakened society and have inflicted communal tensions. They are not sensitive towards the people.”
MLC Veena Achaiah highlighted Bapu’s deeds.
District Congress chief secretary V P Suresh welcomed the gathering.
