Madikeri: Tuntaje Ganesh, founder and president of Kodagu Gowda Arebaashe Cultural Academy inaugurated a week-long Arebaashe Culture-Nature painting camp organised by the Karnataka Arebaashe Academy of Culture and Literature on Thursday April 1.
Speaking at the office of the Arebaashe Culture and Sahitya Academy’s office in the town, he said that the art and culture of Arebaashe in Kodagu and Dakshina Kannada district are different and that the art camp will help in reflecting the art and culture of the region. He said that the painting camp would facilitate the introduction of different art forms through environment and clothing.
Speaking on the occasion, Lakshmi Narayana Kajegadde, President of Karnataka Arebaashe Culture and Sahitya Academy, said that the academy is working hard to preserve and develop the culture of the language through arts, culture and literature even during this Covid times.
The painting camp will be helpful in introducing Arebaashe culture, ritual and dress code of the Sullia region in South Canara and also of Kodagu distruct, she said. It is essential to document the language, the region and the culture and efforts are being made in that regard, she added.
