Madikeri: The six-day recruitment rally for the Indian Army began at the General Thimayya Stadium here on Sunday, October 13.
According to the reports, the recruitment process, organized by the Army headquarters in Bengaluru, will go on till October 18. Thousands of youth have already enrolled for the recruitment drive online.
At first, the candidates from various districts went through a height check and were then left inside the stadium.
A team, comprising 80 men, was given the task of completing a 1.6 km run within six minutes. Based on the positions they secured on the completion of the run, they were divided into three teams and were then given physical exercises.
Events like long jump, cross walking etc. were also organized.
Recruitment officer from Bengaluru Colonel Navaratan Shibiya, Brigadier Roy and Bengaluru Command Hospital doctors and staff conducted various tests.
Meanwhile, the candidates who registered online, their parents and the public were not allowed to enter the stadium.
Police and army contingents were deployed around the stadium for security.
