Madikeri: Three Arebashe litterateurs will be honoured with state Arebashe academy awards for the year 2015 at a special function in Ravindra Kalakshethra in Bengaluru on Novemeber 26.
Disclosing the details, president of the Karnataka Arebashe Sahitya academy, Kolya Girish said, Vidwan T G Mudoor, Writer and senior stage artist Geetha Montadka and Writer Janaki Belliappa will receive the honours.
The program will be inaugurated by State minister of Kannada and culture Umashree at 4 pm. Kannada professor at JNU centre of language studies Dr. Puroshottam Bilimale will preside over the function. Union minister for statistics program implementation D V Sadananda Gowda will release a book on the occasion.
State cabinet ministers M R Seetharam, Ramanath Rai, M Krishnappa along with MLA from Madikeri K G Bopaiah are likely to the attend the award distribution ceremony as chief guests. In addition, K A Dayanand director Kananda and culture, joint director Mallikarjuna Swamy, Kodagu and Dakshina Gowda Samaja President Padma Kolchar, Kodagu Gowda Samaja president Ammavana Vasu and BBMP joint commissioner P Palangappa will also be present as chief guests on the occasion.
Various cultural troupes from Kodagu, Dakshina Kannda and Bengaluru will perform at the cultural show from 6 pm onwards.
Vidwan T G Mudoor, writer and senior stage artist Geetha Montadka and writer Janaki Belliappa have already received several district and state level awards. The award instituted by Karnataka Arebashe cultural and Sahitya academy will add one more feather to their respective crowns.
