Mandya: An aged female elephant that was being provided treatment by the Forest Department at Hediyala Village here died on Wednesday January 19.
The elephant had reached Kudurehundi Halla after moving out of forest and had collapsed due to fatigue. Despite due treatment by veterinarian on Tuesday January 18, the elephant did not respond to treatment and succumbed on Wednesday.
Postmortem has been conducted and the reason for the death will be known on availability of the report.
