Fans pay last respects to Ambi in Mandya

Mandya: Throughout Sunday night, thousands of ‘Rebel Star’ M H Ambareesh’s fans stood in a kilometre-long queue outside the Sir M Visvesvaraya Stadium of the city, to get the last glimpses of his mortal remains. Among them, many were visually impaired and physically handicapped. The darshan continued for the entire night.

According to the Mandya police sources, the darshan of the mortal remains started at 5.30 PM on Sunday and continued into the night. “A huge number of fans had gathered. Many of them came from the neighbouring districts as well. The long queue continued even on Monday morning,” informed the officers.

Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, who was at the stadium till late at night, went to the government guest house near KRS dam, Srirangapatna and returned early in the morning. Actor Yash was found managing the crowd. Senior leaders, including Mallikarjun Kharge, visited the stadium and paid their last respects to the departed soul.
