Mandya: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said, “Though there has been a proposal to develop the Bengaluru – Mysuru Road since the 1990s, after Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister in 2014, the road development project has been prepared and implemented in a phased manner. The work started in 2019 and was completed by Modi himself in 2023.”

Speaking after inaugurating the Mysuru – Bengaluru Expressway in Mandya District, he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been recognised as a world leader and the people of the US, China and Pakistan are also appreciating his able leadership. He said that more than Rs 4,000 Crore has been allocated for the road. Modi’s style of functioning is to complete all projects in a time-bound manner, he said.

Describing the road as an example of this, the Chief Minister said that Rs. 16,000 Crore from the Centre under the Kisan Samman Yojana and Rs. 4,000 Crore from the State Government have been credited to the farmers’ accounts.
