Mandya: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh campaigned in the District. After Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, UP Chief Minister Yogi, and Minister Rajnath Singh, who arrived in Mandya, campaigned fiercely.

Rajnath Singh proposed the name of Vokkaliga warriors of 18th Century Uri Gowda and Nanje Gowda. Rajnath Singh canvassed for Sachidananda, the candidate of Mandya’s Srirangapattana assezmbly constituency.

Union Minister Rajnath Singh speaking at an open meeting of the BJP in Kottatti Village of Srirangapattana Constituency said, “This land is the birthplace of Krishnaraja Wodeyar, Vishweshwaraiah, Uri Gowda, Nanjegowda and Ambarish.” He said see the development done by PM Modi and vote for BJP this time. There were many corruption and scams during the Congress Government. However, there are no allegations against our present government, he noted.

You have seen corruption free government, and seen development. This time, we will give a full-fledged government and curb corruption,” he said.

Congress people are well aware that they will not get power in the State. Now they are working to divide on the basis of religion. Under which Constitution are they working now? We are working to protect the wishes of the Constitution. If we have worked to unite people, they are working to separate them,” he lashed out at the Congress.

Addressing the gathering Minister R. Ashok said, “This is an election where we have to think whether there should be Congress or JD (S). Congress is missing in the whole country. Modi is working as the Prime Minister of the poor. He is doing good work on behalf of the poor,” he said, adding that D. K. Shiva Kumar is promising free electricity. Why didn’t he give free electricity when he was Minister of Energy?, he questioned.

He invited Rahul Gandhi and announced it as election gimmick.

“Siddaramaiah is now going to the temple. Earlier he was blaming temple and Hindu rituals saying he is afraid of vermillion,” he said.
