Mandya: Leopard trapped in cage set up by Forest Department

Mandya: A leopard, which had created panic among the villagers for the past several days, fell into a cage kept by the Forest Department in the wee hours of Monday December 19.

The leopard was spotted in Lokasara Village of the Taluk a few days ago and the villagers were worried. The leopard had also attacked domestic animals, including dogs which frightened the villagers. Later, the Forest Department staff had recently placed the cage. As a result, the leopard fell into the cage. Villagers had gathered nearby to see the leopard.

It is said that the Forest Department Personnel have offered to release the leopard into the forest.
