Mandya: The leopard menace is on the rise in the District and it needs to be stopped urgently. Also, it is a question of the lives of people, including in the rural areas. Therefore, more cages should be placed in strategic areas everywhere including the world famous KRS, and necessary steps should be taken to capture the leopards, stated Mandya MLA Dinesh Gooligowda.
Gooligowda has written a letter to Chief Minister Bommai requesting him to create awareness among the public. Since the Forest Department is currently with the Chief Minister, urgent action needs to be taken to save the lives of the public, he stated.
He also requested the public to be made aware of the action to be taken in case the leopards are sighted.
