Mandya: Retired soldier dies while avoiding pothole

Mandya: Hundreds of bike riders lost lives while avoiding potholes in Bengaluru City. Now a retired soldier has died due to a road pothole in Mandya on Sunday November 13.

A retired soldier who was riding a bike died after falling into a big pothole on the road near Karimane Gate on Anekere Street in the City. The deceased identified as S. N. Kumar (39), is a native of Satanur Village in Mandya taluk. Around 3.00 pm on Sunday, S. N. Kumar was going through Mandya’s Karamane Gate on a bike with his father. While avoiding a pothole he hit the bike coming from the opposite direction. A lorry coming behind him run over him while his father escaped unhurt.

A case has been registered at Mandya Traffic Police Station. The deceased was selected as a constable in the Police Department undergoing training in Bengaluru.
